Uptime Guarantee

What is the meaning of uptime guarantee?

Uptime Guarantee Definition: In the web hosting field, up-time guarantee is defined as the approximate percentage of time in a year a service provider promises the clients to make hosted services online.

It is impractical to promise 100% up time service, since unforeseen circumstances like software and/or hardware issues can cause services to halt for some periods of time. Generally a greater number of web hosts promise at least 99.9% uptime service, which means they will make sure their servers’ downtime will not exceed eight (8) hours and forty six (46) minutes in a year. Web hosting companies utilize varied compensation methods to make up for their lost services, whenever their uptime guarantees are broken.
